Europe

Geography

The eastern part of the Eurasian continent, washed by the waters of the Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean, Europe is synonymous with civilization, enlightenment, culture, science and art. On 10.5 million sq. km there are 43 states in which a total of 830 million people live – almost 1/8 of the world’s population. It is not surprising that with such “initial data” Europe is literally bursting with various cultural values: architectural and historical monuments, the most valuable examples of painting and sculpture, religious relics and everything that restless mankind has created over the long centuries of its existence on European lands.

Touristic Europe is a multi-colored fragrant bouquet of countries, cities and resorts. If we talk about types of recreation, then there is hardly any activity that could not be found in this region: if you want to lie on the beach, take your way to Italy, Spain, Bulgaria… (fortunately, there are enough coastlines in Europe for entire armies of sun worshipers); I like the sighting “excursion” – a direct road to France, Germany, Great Britain…; in search of spiritual food – welcome to Greece, Bulgaria, Italy..; if you dream of “breaking away to the fullest” – go to the Cote d’Azur, Ibiza or Monte Carlo – in general, there would be a desire, but there will certainly be a place to bring it to life!

Europe is usually divided into Northern and Southern, Western and Eastern, as well as Central. This division is rather arbitrary, especially since not only purely geographical, but also political factors come into play here. Some countries, depending on the point of view, may be assigned to different regions of Europe.

Where to go?

What are the tourist advantages of Europe as a destination? In addition to the variety of leisure activities listed above, European countries are good for a) proximity to Mother Russia (which, in fact, is partly Europe itself) – therefore, stable air traffic and a short flight; b) a climate similar to the domestic one, which means that acclimatization will be minimal, which is the best suited for pensioners and families with small children going to resorts; finally, c) the commonality of culture and worldview – no fried cockroaches for dinner and many hours of mournful songs of dubious artistic value. And if you’re lucky enough to grab a tour to Europe at a “burning” price…

Touristic Europe is a multi-colored fragrant bouquet of countries, cities and resorts. If we talk about types of recreation, then there is hardly an activity that could not be found in this region.

Among other things, Europe is so diverse that any tourist will be able to find the right direction according to the degree, so to speak, of remoteness from their native land. Let’s start with Ukraine and Belarus, which are closest to us not only territorially, but also culturally, whose fertile or romantic expanses have fascinated more than one generation of writers and poets. Those who want everything the same as at home, but with a slight flair of “foreignness”, can be advised to pay attention to the countries of Eastern Europe – Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, and the Baltic states. Sparing capitalism is observed in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and in all respects Western society will meet you in Austria, Germany, Italy. Finally, the far reaches of Europe – Greece, Crete, Portugal – will meet with warm sea, magnificent southern beaches and hot breath… don’t be surprised,

  • Northern Europe (or Scandinavia): Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland. This also includes the Baltic countries: Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
  • Eastern Europe: Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia
  • Western Europe: UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Belgium, Netherlands
  • Central Europe: Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary
  • Southern Europe, which also includes the Balkans: Portugal, Spain, Andorra, Monaco, Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, Greece, Malta, Cyprus and Northern Cyprus, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro
