Exhaustion in English

In order to know the meaning of the term exhaustion that we are now dealing with, it is necessary that, first of all, we begin by discovering its etymological origin. In this case, we can expose that it is a word that derives from Latin, since it is the fruit of the sum of several components of said language:
-The prefix “ad-“, which means “towards”.
-The noun “gutta”, which is equivalent to “drop”.
-The suffix “-miento”, which can be translated as “result”.

According to Digopaul, exhaustion is the act and the consequence of exhausting: consuming, spending or emptying the whole of something, causing extreme fatigue. For example: “The coach presented his resignation alluding to physical and mental exhaustion”, “High temperatures can cause exhaustion and dehydration”, “The depletion of natural resources worries the government”.

When a person suffers from exhaustion, they feel very tired: that is, without the strength to make efforts. Exhaustion can be caused by intense physical activity, lack of food and rest, or as a consequence of some type of illness or health disorder.

Suppose a young man is lost in the forest and spends three days without eating, drinking water from a river, wandering around and not resting properly. When finally a group of rescuers finds him, the boy suffers the consequences of exhaustion: he can hardly stand up. To recover, you will need to eat and hydrate properly and rest.

There are many circumstances that can lead to a person being exhausted, such as being intensively preparing for oppositions or carrying out a work project. In that case, a series of symptoms will begin to appear that will indicate that you are certainly exhausted:
-It will present problems to rest properly and even to be able to fall asleep.
-You can forget important moments or things.
-In the same way, you can have sudden changes in mood, reflecting, above all, a noticeable bad mood or irritability.
-You can have low moments, where you are not able to see anything clearly and feel very sad, just wanting to cry.

In order to counteract this exhaustion situation, it is considered that what should be done is to take a series of measures:
-Begin to prioritize both work and personal, family or friendship commitments.
-Learn to say no.
-Take time for yourself, both to rest only and to do hobbies and hobbies that you like.

Exhaustion also refers to what happens when the availability of something runs out. A sportswear brand can release a limited edition of one hundred soccer jerseys signed by a Real Madrid star. In a few minutes, all the shirts are sold and therefore sold out. In this case, exhaustion refers to the fact that there are no more shirts available.

It is even possible to refer to a moral or spiritual exhaustion. A political leader who works honestly can feel exhausted seeing how other politicians, appealing to corruption and lies, always get more support than he does.
